Technical Process for Water Purification
- Flocculants Dosing System: Raw water undergoes an initial dosing to remove suspended particles.
- Multi-Stage Filtration: The water then passes through a series of filters, including sand, activated carbon, and a 1µm micron filter, which eliminate impurities, sediments, and organic contaminants.
- RO and UF Systems: These filtration systems remove residual contaminants, ensuring that the water meets the highest quality standards.
- Ozone Treatment: The final stage includes ozone treatment for enhanced purity before bottling.
Filters and Chemical Dosing
The plant uses a sand filter to capture particulate solids and an activated carbon filter to eliminate organic residues, improving both taste and safety. Calcium chloride and magnesium chloride dosing add essential minerals to the water, enhancing its quality for safe consumption.
Future Prospects
WASA Faisalabad is planning to expand its offerings by introducing bottled water in smaller sizes, including 5 liters, 1.5 liters, and 0.5 liters, to make safe drinking water more accessible to a wider audience.

FILTERS & CHEMICAL DOSING Sand Filter – Sand bed filters work by providing the particulate solids with many opportunities to be captured on the surface of a sand grain. As fluid flows through the porous sand along a tortuous route, the particulates come close to sand grains. Activated Carbon Filter – For removing organic constituents and residual disinfectants in water supplies. This not only improves taste and minimizes health hazards; it protects other water treatment units such as reverse osmosis membranes and ion exchange resins from possible damage due to oxidation or organic fouling. Chemical Dosing – Calcium chloride & Magnesium chloride dosing provides mineral ingredients and improves the water quality.
